What a fun day yesterday at church!  God’s presence in our worship and Sunday School was real.

We have an opportunity to see what God is doing around us and be involved in what he wants to do.  It’s part of the Lord ’s Prayer he taught us to pray.  We pray: “Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us your debts as we forgive our debtors.  Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and glory forever.  Amen.”   So we pray for God’s kingdom to come, God’s will be done on earth.  And make earth look just like heaven.  We want God’s ways on earth.  We want to know what God’s will is, see how He wants to work and is working, and participate in all that He is doing.   He wants to use us, His church to do His will on earth, just like in heaven.  First I’ll be looking, listening,  for what He is leading me to do, then I’ll do it ask God to empower me to do what He is leading me to do.

We have been trying to meet our next door neighbors around our house.  Robin and I are praying about it.  We certainly meet all the dogs in the backyards around us, our dog Jack helps us with that!   Yesterday, we made it a point to be outside in the afternoon and met another neighbor and her daughter. She was eager to meet us and tell us some of her story, wanting to introduce her young daughter.  Another friendship started!

This coming Sunday we are calling “Bring – a – Friend” Sunday.  Following the morning Sunday School groups and morning Worship service, we will share a chili or soup lunch in the family life center for Souper Bowl Sunday.  Donations for Women’s ministry will be received as well as food items for the community food pantry.  I believe it would be God’s will that His house of small groups and Worship would be filled this Lord’s Day Sunday by us and friends we invite to come with us.   Will you pray about who to invite?  Will you invite several to join you?  Will you invite them to lunch following?   Maybe you will bring them with you Sunday morning in your car or meet them at the door?  Let’s ask God to lead us, everyone to fill the church full this Sunday for His will to be done in us.  Do you have any friends on your heart right now?  Invite this week who God leads you to and expect his will be done.

Anticipating, Pastor Wayne.
