Divine Moments

“One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard: that you, O God, are strong, and that you, O Lord, are loving. Surely you will reward each person according to what he has done.”  (Psalm 62:11 – NIV)

One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of, the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.” (Psalm 27:4)

What is the one thing that you crave more than anything else in the world? What one thing are you obsessed with and desire more than anything? What one thing are you really passionate about?

David desired more than anything in the world to be in the presence of the LORD. He had an intense desire to be with God, to encounter Him and embrace His love each day of his life. Even more so, he wanted to be with God for all of eternity. No wonder he was called a man after God’s own heart. The truth is God owned his heart to the extent that it was the only thing he really desired out of life. Are you there yet in your relationship with God? Do you know God the way David did?

Two things David had discovered about God that you and I need to remember and embrace is that God is both strong and loving. This means He will protect you and provide for your every need in life. God desires nothing but the “best” for you.

David had an intense desire to be in the presence of God. He desired intimacy with God more than anything else in life. Do you have that same desire and intimacy? I know I’m sounding redundant, but what I have discovered is that all my Divine moments have come out of my time spent in the presence of the LORD and seeking Him. I have discovered He is with me where ever I am. There is never a moment he is not there. If you don’t know that, then, I want to encourage you to seek God until you find you can’t live without Him, even for a moment.

Can you honestly say with David, “Test me, O LORD, and try me, examine my heart and my mind; for your love is ever before me, and I walk continually in your truth.”(Psalm 26:2-3 –NIV)

Father today I seek you in the freshness of this new day. I’m not interested in just praising you or thinking about you for a few moments. I want to be aware of your presence all day long. I want your love to flow freely through me in word, thought and deed. I want you to give me the opportunity to share my faith with someone today. Please open those doors and may I be sensitive to your leading. Help me to experience you in a fresh new way today and to do something that will bring Glory to your Name!  Amen!
