“Let the Journey Begin….in 2015”

“Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.” (Psalms 84:5)

Have you ever been overwhelmed by the greatness of God?

The Psalmist has had an intimate experience with God that so impacted his life that he could hardly wait to get to church. Church for him wasn’t about a building or place of worship. It was about being connected with God and being in His presence. He had a yearning for God that literally controlled his heart. Listen to the pulse of his heart-beat:

“How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.” (Psalms 84:1-2)

The key to his life was his heart for God. He had a hunger and thirsting for God that went way beyond his personal preferences. He was going to church because of one thing….He had a heart for God! Is there really any other reason for going to church.

The psalmist longed to get away from the pressures of everyday life to network with God. He had an intense desire to be in God’s presence. To meet with God personally! Why? Because of the impact God had had on his life.

One of the great catapults to vital worship and praise is a heart set apart for God. To have a sense of His awesome greatness….O LORD Almighty! Wow! What a might God we have.

It is that sense of God’s greatness that moved the sons of Korah to sing, “Great is the lord, and most worthy of praise.” (Psalms 48:1) Paul understood this when he said, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ.” ( Eph.1)

The common denominator is their heart for God. They had an intense desire to be in His presence. Why? Because they had a heart set apart for God. Can you imagine what life would be like in 2015 if we lived everyday “set-apart” for God?

The greatest need among us today is not new programs or how we worship or even more teaching sessions. What we really need is a heart set apart for God. What we really need is to gain a life changing glimpse of the greatness, the awesomeness, the wonder, the power, the mercy, the goodness and the loving kindness of the God we serve and love.

What we desperately need is to worship and praise God with more than our mouths. We need to praise Him with our hearts. To enter His presence because of Who He is! Is your heart set apart for God? Is that really the true basis of your worship and living.

As we make the journey together in 2015…let it begin with a heart set apart for God!

Will you come to Him in worship with an intense desire to encounter Him in a fresh new way each week? How about daily through "Reboot Your life" emphasis?

Let's work hard at being the Church Christ died for us to be!
