I have been thinking lately about how God chose us to be his children.  As a father, this subject has more depth and meaning to me than it ever has before.  In Matthew 18:14 it says, "In the same way, it is not my heavenly Father's will that even one of these little ones should perish."

It must pain the Lord greatly when people He created choose not to follow Him.  I know how much I love my little boy, how much more must our God love us?  As I grow in the understanding of this truth, I want to love Him more.  I want to serve him better.  I want to walk closer with Him.

"For God decided to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us.  He died for us so that we can live with him forever, whether we are dead or alive at the time of his return."  1 Thessalonians 5:1-11
