As I laid my son down for his nap, we prayed together that he would rest well.  I headed to the computer and got right to work.  Being a work from home mom, nap time is very precious!  

After about 30 minutes, he woke up crying.  I prayed that he would go back to sleep, but he didn't.  Feeling frustrated, I went in and got him.  I held him on the couch for a few minutes, and next thing I know he was asleep on my shoulder.  

 He slept there for 1.5 hours.  My son has not fallen asleep in my arms in over a year and it was the most precious hour and a half I have had in a long time.  As I sat there holding my baby, I was reminded that God really does know what is best for me.  If I had it my way, he would have fallen back to sleep and I would have had a more productive afternoon.

However, He had in mind a far better plan for me.  This must just be a little glimpse of the bigger picture of our lives.  We get frustrated when God doesn't do what we ask...but if we only knew what He had in store that is so much better than our limited vision can see!  Will you join me in trusting Him with our prayer requests that seem to go unanswered?
